Countywide Criminal Justice Coordination Committee/Information
System Advisory Board
The Executive Office provides administrative and ministerial
support
to the Countywide Criminal Justice Coordination Committee (CCJCC)
and roughly 20 subcommittees and work groups, including the Information
Systems Advisory Body (ISAB). Additionally, the staff assists
the committee in preparing planning documents, conducting basic
research, developing multi-agency projects, preparing special
reports to the Board, providing technical assistance to committee
member departments and developing proposals for grant funds.
The mission of the CCJCC and its staff is to promote improvements
in the local criminal
justice system and to foster interagency cooperation and coordination.
The Information Systems Advisory Body (ISAB) is a multi-agency,
multi-jurisdictional policy sub-committee of CCJCC established
in 1982 to oversee the coordination, planning and development
of major justice information systems. Comprising public officials
and key justice leaders from municipal, County, State and Federal
government, CCJCC is a policy-level advisory body which provides
leadership in the development of countywide planning efforts,
establishment of special programs and pilot projects and the formulation
of collaborative solutions to systemwide problems.
CCJCC and ISAB are involved in projects in a variety of areas
including:
Development
and implementation of strategic plans for criminal justice information
systems and videoconferencing technology.
Development
of strategies to mitigate the impact of deportable criminal aliens
on the L.A. County justice agencies and local jail system.
Drug
treatment for criminal offenders, emergency response planning,
regional auto theft enforcement, street gangs and marketing/revenue
generation strategies.
Impact
of the "Three-Strikes-And-You're-Out" law on the local criminal
justice system.
Management
of interagency automation projects including Consolidated Criminal
History Reporting System (CCHRS), Proactive Information Exchange
(PIX) and criminal justice agency network planning and implementation.
