CALIFORNIA WATER DISTRICTS

AUTHORITY

Section 34000 et seq. of the Water Code; and Section 20202 of the Water Code.

APPOINTMENT

Elected. The Board of Supervisors appoints upon receipt of a resolution from the District, in lieu of an election, if only one person is nominated or if no one is nominated.

TERM OF OFFICE

Four years, or until a successor qualifies to take office.

COMPENSATION

Not to exceed $100.00 per day for not more than a total of 6 days in any calendar month.

QUALIFICATIONS

A member must be:

a.

Over the age of twenty-one

   

b.

A resident within the boundaries of the Division to which elected

   

c.

A registered voter

(Article II, Section A of By-laws of the District.)

DUTIES

Each district has the power generally to perform all acts necessary or proper to carry out fully the provisions of Section 35400 et seq. of the Water Code.
