AUTHORITY*
Board Order No. 89 of June 25, 1996. AB 2666 Knight (1996) established the Antelope Valley Air Pollution Control District, Health and Safety Code 40106;
AB 771 Runner (2001) abolished the Antelope Valley Air Pollution Control District and established the Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District, Health and Safety Code 41300 et seq.
NUMBER OF MEMBERS*
Seven as follows:

Two members of the City Council of the City of Lancaster. |
2. |
Two members of the City Council of the City of Palmdale. |
3. |
Two persons appointed by the member of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles who represents a majority of the population of the Antelope Valley District, one of whom may be that Supervisor. |
4. |
A public member who shall be appointed by the members who have been appointed pursuant to paragraphs (1) to (3), inclusive. |

Indefinite.
COMPENSATION*
$100.00 per meeting attended and mileage reimbursement.
MEETINGS
Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.
DUTIES*
Responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and enforcement of air pollution control strategies and motor vehicle use reduction measures and represents the citizens of the Antelope Valley District in influencing the decisions of other public and private agencies whose actions may have an adverse impact on air quality within the Antelope Valley District.
